Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct - a clean energy investment and jobs powerhouse.

In a global-first, the Precinct will be largely powered by renewables, master-planned to achieve a circular economy approach of sustainable and responsible production and will use technology to achieve low-to-zero emissions.

From the planning and development process through to the industries it will attract, the Precinct is a blueprint for the future of Australian industry - sustainable, modern and high-tech.

The Territory, Australia and our region need the Precinct in order to transition to renewable energy and achieve net zero by 2050.

The Territory is perfectly placed to deliver this project for 3 big reasons: we have the inputs, enablers and markets.

The Precinct is being assessed as a strategic proposal under both the NT Environment Protection Act 2019 and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and logistics (DIPL) are in the planning and concept design phase. DIPL are preparing the MASDP program, which includes the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the strategic proposal.

The purpose of this draft EIS is to provide a comprehensive assessment of potential environmental impacts associated with the Precinct and will be placed on public exhibition for comment.

Over 200 studies undertaken to inform design.
